Featured Flash Sale: Beyond the Rack

With so many luxury department stores opening discount outlets, including Saks Off Fifth, Last Call Neiman Marcus, Barney’s Warehouse, and Nordstrom Rack, flash sales have nearly became a thing of the past. Luxury retailers are finally beginning to understand the value of discount luxury resale. While I find many of my luxury items at these discount retailers, my favorite flash sale website is Beyond the Rack. Beyond the Rack is a Canadian-based flash sale website (they ship to the U.S.) which features a variety of items from mens, womens, children, accessories, and home in both the luxury and non luxury sectors. Over the last five years I have purchased a good number of my luxury handbags from Beyond the Rack and have at times saved thousands of dollars versus the retail price.

Online and In-Store Find: Club Monaco Everett Coat

Over the past two years I have been on the hunt for the perfect winter coat. Not only have I been looking for a winter coat that is practical enough to keep me warm during freezing New York City winters, but I also wanted a winter coat that is fashionable enough that I actually enjoy wearing. After desperately searching online and in-stores, I finally found my ideal winter coat at Club Monaco. As I mentioned earlier, one of my all-time favorite e-commerce outlets is Saks Off Fifth. I regularly find great deals here and their offerings are always changing. Being a native New Yorker sunglasses are a must, whether you are wearing them to make a fashion statement or if you simply do not feel like wearing makeup to make a quick run out somewhere, I found theses beautiful Saint Laurent wayfarer sunglasses in black and silver. The listed price on Saks Off Fifth is $119.00 and I also used a promo code that I found on retailmenot.com and saved $20.00. Online Find: Yves Saint Laurent Wool & Cashmere Scarf

As I have mentioned before, Saks Off Fifth is one of my favorite online retailers. While there are a handful of Saks off Fifth stores, none of them are located in New York City, so I find using the Saks Off Fifth website is a great way to find deals. The winter season is rapidly approaching and I suffer from a condition called “freezing office syndrome.” I have been on the hunt for the perfect scarf. I wanted a scarf that would match all my different jackets and coats and one that would not look too dingy if my bronzer or foundation accidentally rubbed off on it (c’mon ladies we have all been there before). I came across this beautiful gray wool and cashmere Saint Laurent scarf for only $69.99, marked down from $295.00!!! I love the subtle YSL logo and fringe detailing. James Perse Sample Sale VS. Saks Off Fifth

The other day I stopped at one of my favorite sample sale hot spots, 260 Fifth Ave, for a James Perse sample sale. I love 260 Fifth, truly a great location that allows shoppers to try on merchandise and is always fairly well-organized. For the James Perse sample sale I resisted temptation and waited until the second to last of day of the sale with the hope of scoring an extra discount. With no further reductions or markdowns I was disappointed by the price points. There was a good amount of men’s and women’s apparel in a variety of sizes but the prices seemed entirely too high by sample sale standards (see price list below). Saks Off Fifth, one of my favorite online retailers, is actually offering James Perse apparel at significantly lower prices. Women’s long sleeve tops start at $24.99 at Saks Off Fifth versus $40.00 at the James Perse sample sale. Fall in New York City is one of my favorite seasons. It now feels socially acceptable to wear boots with any outfit. A few weeks ago I decided to look for the perfect pair of black suede booties, something both acceptable to pair with office attire or for a night out on the town.
